Veerensmederij - Theater and Event Venue

Located in a beautifully restored industrial monument directly behind Amersfoort Central Station, this intimate music theater opened in 2010 by Princess Máxima. The venue was formerly a factory producing springs for train undercarriages until 2000, and the characteristic industrial elements create exceptional acoustics perfect for musical performances and concerts.

As the home base of Holland Opera, the theater presents an annual family opera during Christmas vacations, plus thousands of children visit for performances and workshops throughout the school year. The programming features Sunday concerts spanning jazz, world music, and classical, along with family performances and theatrical productions.

The venue frequently collaborates with other theaters including Flint and theater de Lieve Vrouw for themed weekends such as Children's Music Week, Autumn Pieces, and Spring Outings. Regular guests include ensembles like Pynarello, the Ragazze Quartet, and Cello Octet Amsterdam with the Festival September Me. With its wheelchair-accessible facilities, hearing loop system, and intimate 200-seat capacity, this cultural gem offers an unforgettable experience in a truly unique historic setting.
